Faysal is a financial company that provides automated financial solutions to Northern Nigerians. They offer a range of finance features like Community Rotational Savings (popularly known as àjo in Yoruba) and no-interest loans for businesses to manage their operations. 

Faysal’s unique advantage is embedded in its accessibility to the average Northern Nigerian with savings, investment, and business growth needs. As well as, the opportunity to manage all financial operations from one place while growing a community of like-minded individuals.

To launch the product, Faysal needed a unique brand identity that portrays its position in the Fintech industry in Africa and most especially the audience it serves.

Inside the Process

It was important that the branding encompassed cultural elements that resonated with the target audience, which in this case was Northern Nigeria. Through extensive research, we observed that patterns and vibrant colors were prevalent in the region, and most product branding catered to the conservative nature of the audience. 

Hence, the illustrations created reflected the culture of the region while being mindful of the legal restrictions that prevented wild branding expression. Additional consideration was given to the logo, which was derived from patterns observed on surfaces in the area, in order to ensure it was a familiar icon to the audience. This approach led to the successful execution of the brand identity.
